Pain

Christmas is a time of pain for many. A dear friend of mine is suffering physical pain today from surgery yesterday. Pray for Don. However, I’m referring here to soul pain. The deep ache inside from loss, emptiness, disappointment, shattered dreams. This pain is a friend. It brings us to despair. No want seeks this. No one wants this. From here we cry out for meaning for purpose for life. For this purpose, God sent His Son. No other world view will fill the void. Denial of the pain is denial not reality. Resolution simply fosters bitterness and cynicism. Screaming out first into God’s face and then into His arms alone brings comfort, peace and joy.
